The Church Nightly News is a series of "television broadcasts", which can be used as a Lenten Education series, or as a 1-hour production. It seeks to make (all too) familiar Bible Stories real, relevant and dramatic — and and to put them into contemporary perspective.
The script(s) is a series of readings, with the actors playing news reporters.
(Short "Weather Reporter" segments are included, so that maps can be used.)
When used as a Lenten series, the presentation is followed by a moderated
discussion of the meaning and implications of the play.
Cast: 4-minimum. Set: Table, chair, Easel (optional).
Episodes (Each lasts about 20 minutes):
Abraham and Isaac
The Israelite's' Siege of Jericho
The Division Of Israel
Elijah's Disappearance
Jonah At Nineveh
"A fresh and startling view of Scripture."
Music (News Theme) available.
